GC Holiday Park Community Centre

  • This project in a popular Gold Coast Tourist park was deigned to work as a multi-function Community Centre containing a commercial kitchen.

  • We floated a roof over the whole site & articulated internal enclosed spaces with a wrapping deck that terraced to the West, acted as an amphitheatre seating with the building opening to the courtyard acting as the stage.

  • All trees onsite remained & penetrated the deck roof. A large green wall was used to screen & define the amenities & separate these private zones.

  • The park uses the space as group booking briefing & conference areas, communal park breakfasts & BBQ’s & as a large function centre.

  • Built by John Martin Builder.

Perched high on Hill Ave, Burleigh Heads — a home suspended between canopy and coastline.

Crisp white planes float above battened timber and off-form concrete, framing the Gold Coast skyline from every terrace. The pool wraps the living edge in a curve of stone; deep verandahs and a slatted entry court temper the northern sun, while glass dissolves the line between kitchen, deck and horizon.

Now under construction at Mudgeeraba — a family home stepped down its sloping site beneath horizontal planes.

Board-formed concrete and blackened timber hold the house to the hill, while planted terraces blur each level into the landscape. A cantilevered pool floats over the carport below; deep eaves and screened verandahs do the climatic work, filtering the sunlight and opening the living rooms to the valley breeze.
