These additions were to an existing seaside bungalow & were designed to complement the existing dwelling whilst at the same time re-interpret the current modern beachside context.

The existing dwelling for a young family had a disconnect to the large rear yard so the revised intent was to incorporate the site, extend & open out to the yard & allow connections from living spaces to these external landscaped zones.

The design detailing responds to the site & climate with a shear blank western blade wall & north aspect sunhoods to limit solar heat gain. The materials were a consideration of the beachside setting with black detailing to reflect the existing.

Built by JT Master Builders who won the HIA award for this project in the Additions $300-$600k category.
