The fanning of the block led to the stepped layered facade. The building form opens to the waterfront as you move through the property due to a compressed site entry.

The stepping nature of the form allows Northern light and predominant NE cooling breezes to penetrate breaking down the mass.

Materials were selected for the coastal environment. Composite timbers to give a natural element with black detailing. The front powdercoat batten screen was designed to add privacy to the street-front from the front bedroom, allowing filtered light & breeze, whilst adding visual interest to the street facade.

Neutral textures were utilised internally with a playful subtle colour palette with a feature of terrazzo tile for a pop of colour.
