**The Jonson. Under the awning.**
The street edge is where a building either gives or takes. At The Jonson, the awning is carved with circular voids — light wells that pull sun down through cascading greenery to the footpath below, so the colonnade reads as garden rather than shelter.
The planting does the quiet work: softening the copper as it weathers, filtering the western light, marking the thresholds between public and retail. What’s left is a shaded public room for Jonson Street — somewhere to pause, meet, and linger a while longer than the errand required.
