This original 1940’s beach cottage was stripped back to its frame & re-designed. An additional storey was added & converted into a boutique 5-unit holiday development.

The original 1940’s character was maintained & detailed to reference the original typology & character in the Burleigh area & maintain its sense of place amongst the concrete boxes.

A re-interpreted battened staircase to the rear provides filtered shelter to the occupants & acts as a lantern at night.

North facing doors disappear into cavity walls & allow cross ventilation form the cooling summer sea breezes.
